Abstract flower painting commission for private residence in Morgan Hill, California.
The Anthony-Grunbaum family was looking for a painting with restrained palette for their new home and wanted the painting to incorporate “5” in some way to represent their family.
I created a color palette based on their living room environment, and after determining that they liked my Wild Nasturtiums painting, I created an adaptation of this floral painting with five abstract flowers — two representing the parents, and three representing their children.
I built layered texture for dimension, and included drippy brushstrokes and loose linework for a painterly, human quality.
